It may not be what the History of California instructor wanted but by goddess, I turned in a good project last night. 12 pages about the Civil Rights movement, tracking major dates, major players, major organizations and a whole lotta URL's for continued research. That doesn't cover the 3 or 4 pages of names in my notebook either. Malcolm X has no California connection. Oh sure, the Black Panthers were founded after he was assassinated and Huey P. Newton and Bobby Seale founded it to carry on X's work but that's really the only X connection (or should I more properly say, El-Shabazz instead of X?). So much happened in the 60's that to try to write one five-page paper on it is ridiculous, so I took a different approach. Because what I figured out, is when she says "analysis" that isn't really what she wants. And apparently, none of us can quite figure out what it is she wants because that's been a topic of discussion in the open forum. I've decided to do what I think is best and take whatever lumps come my way. My transcripts will show that a low grade in one class is an anomaly and frankly, I just want to be done with this class. I thought I was burned out, and I am, but that isn't what's making this class difficult. Bring it!
