"In former days the Indians were buried in their blankets, without coffins, and the bodies were carried directly out the side door to the cemetery. More than 4,000 [sic] Christian Indians are buried there, including the last of the San Juan Mission Indians, Dona Ascencion Solorzano who died in 1930."⁴
